Website inquiry information
Information submitted through Ask Shane or Tell me about your scenario is used to respond to your mortgage inquiry. Website inquiry records are retained for up to 25 months unless a longer period is required by law or an applicable legal or regulatory hold.
You may request deletion of a website inquiry by contacting Shane Milne. Requests will be honored when permitted by applicable record-retention requirements. After an inquiry is deleted, only non-identifying records showing that the inquiry was created and later deleted are retained. Limited backup or provider-history copies may remain temporarily until they expire under the applicable provider’s retention schedule.

Website analytics
Cloudflare Web Analytics / Real User Monitoring is used for aggregate site traffic and performance measurement. Optional Google Analytics 4 loads only after you accept analytics and helps me understand aggregate traffic and interaction milestones, including confirmed website inquiries and clicks to the secure application portal.
Google Analytics is not intentionally sent borrower names, email addresses, phone numbers, free-text questions, mortgage application data, income, assets, debts, credit information, mortgage balances or rates, property values, purchase prices, down payments, loan or cash-out amounts, adverse-credit history, immigration or service information, or website inquiry answers.
You can accept, decline or withdraw optional Google Analytics through Privacy choices in the site footer. Your choice is remembered locally in this browser. Withdrawing stops future Google Analytics collection and removes identifiable Google Analytics cookies this site can clear; it does not delete information previously collected by Google. Cloudflare traffic and performance measurement operates separately.
Google ratings and reviews
When enabled, our website retrieves Shane the Mortgage Man's aggregate Google rating and review count through Google Maps Platform using a server-side request. These requests do not include your mortgage inquiry or application information. We do not store or cache Google's rating or review-count data. We retain limited operational request counts to manage API usage.
Google's Privacy Policy applies to Google services. Following a link to Google reviews takes you to Google's website, where Google's terms and privacy practices apply.
